Marcel Champlain

Hero of ‘Diamond Heart’ and owner of the ‘Diamond Heart’ jewelry store and gold exchange. Tall, dark, and handsome with a French Accent. Originally from Kansas City where he has many relatives that work in a family owned jewelry store. 

Rowan (Belmont) Champlain

Leading Lady of ‘Diamond Heart’. Wife of Marcel. A dark haired beauty who attracts men like bees to honey. Originally from Terra Haute, IN where she worked a grueling job in a paper mill after the death of her parents. Makes a special tissue paper for the Diamond Heart jewelry to be wrapped in that has pressed and dried local wild flowers in it.

Mayor George Mason

Tall, stringy and tough like a piece of beef jerky. A fair man who tries to treat everyone equally, but knows that his re-election depends heavily on the backing of the different gold mines.

Tilda Mason

Wife of the Mayor and Queen Bee of the town social circle. Short and plump with merry blue eyes and dark blonde hair.  A kind woman who would give you the shirt off her back, but has a distrust of Indians. When she was a girl her sister and father were killed during a botched robbery by some rogue Indians.

Hope Bradley-

Owner of ‘Bradley’s Boarding House’-widowed. Voluptuous and pretty with auburn hair and a slight smattering of freckles that she tries to hide beneath powder. Her boarding house caters to single mothers(widowed/abandoned/etc) and their children. She is on the lookout for a new husband but wants to marry ‘well’ this time. Her first husband died a year after they were married and left her pretty much stranded in Freewill with only a large house and debts to her name. She worked very hard to overcome her poverty by turning her home into a boarding house, eventually expanding it into a three story home that houses ten families. A little jaded and can be quite bitchy, but a good woman underneath.

Doctor (Doc) Will Fenderson-

Town doctor. Normal height with blond hair and blue eyes in his mid-forties. Widowed with two teenage daughters. Treats men from the Promised Land mine and the wealthier families in town. A good man, but a bit conceited and views himself as ‘above’ many of the minorities of Freewill.

Doctor Chong Shurry-

Half Chinese half English. Has Asian features and coloring, but his eyes are blue. He is a doctor educated in England that treats men from the Deep Creek mine. Works with the tribes shaman.

Sabine Loudon-

Local midwife and maid at the ‘Misbegotten Gains’ ranch. Pretty and plump with brown hair and light brown eyes. Family not established.

Merrill Grooms-

Butcher. Owner of Merrill’s Meats. Older bald Scottish man. Family not established. 

Roderick McFarland-

Fur Trader. Owner of Winter’s Warmth. Deep auburn hair and a neatly trimmed beard. Big man and physically intimidating but is actually very shy. Doesn’t talk much to women and can come off as cold to those that don’t know him. --Will be using him in a future story so no romance with him please :) --

Genny Ashwood-

School Teacher. Pale blond hair and hazel eyes with an ethereal beauty. Her father was very abusive and she intends to never marry and put herself at a man’s mercy. ---Will be using her in a future story, so no romance with her please :)---
